I need help real quick....

This is on the '93

I was heading out to the bank for some cash. I didn't even make it out of my parking spot in my driveway and I felt my pedal sink to the floor. I knew what happened right away. Blown brake line.

LUCKILY it happened in my driveway and not on the road

SO, Who knows what size I will need from the parts store? It is the line going from the drivers side rear, crosses over the exhaust and goes to the pass. side rear tire. I may not have time to actually pull the line off before I go up to the parts store, so if you know from experience what I need, let me know asap.

BTW.... If you haven't checked your brake lines in a while... PLEASE DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!

Does 85" sound about right to anyone? That is about what it looks like to me.

Of course I don't have any flare wrenches, so I need to pick them up also. Looks like metric.

If nobody calls, I will just get what I think I need I have a pretty good idea, but am not all that familiar with brake line systems.

Of course I know I need more fluid and to bleed the brakes afterwords

i replaced the ones on the 6000 and i do belive they were 85

im not sure i just went in with the busted piece and the guy gave me the fittings benders and all the stuff i need

where is the blown brake line at :?

bring the old one in to compare

yes like i said it made things alot easier to bring the busted one in

if you dont have the time to take the old one off, just buy extra. and return what you dont use.

and it is 3/16 line. but it may have a bubble flare.

did you plan on buying pre-flared lines? or were you gonna dbl/bbl flare them yourself?

Well, of course my luck....

I got two different sizes of line just to make sure I got the right stuff. Of course, it is the wrong flare They are "standard flare"? NOT what I need.

Another problem...

There are two lines running to the back along the drivers side rocker. They both connect into ( seperate ) little "barrels" that look like they could be check valves of some sort :? I am sure they are not, but I don't know how else to describe them. They are about 1/2 - 3/4 inch diameter and about three inches long.

Well, the fitting on the outlet side of that piece broke off when I was trying to remove it. I got the piece off the other end, but I still need a new one, or is that even a necessary piece? What is that thing?


Yeah... I am doing this outside, in the snow, in my driveway

You might need ISO flare, aka metric or bubble flare. They sell adaptors for ISO to double flare. I don't know what those other pieces are - I'll check my 99 manual.

Edit - I couldn't find anything in the 99 shop manual.

yeah, i had once thought of those barrels to be check valves. but B.Boost, said sumthin like, " that wouldnt make sense for brakes. if you let go of the pedal, you wouldnt want pressyre to still be on the shoes." and after that, it made perfect sense. they are indeed, proportioning valves.
