Makes no sense. Did he point it out to you on the engine? Maybe he mistaken something else for the EGR...

Although..everything should be hooked up.

I'm at a loss...lol.. I sold my series 1 and my memory went with it. Uh..yes..it is up front...there is a corregated looking pipe going to it from the front exhaust manifold.

95 was the first year for series 2 NA motors. Being SC 95 is the last year for the Series 1 SC motor.

(I just sold my 95 SSEi... never spent as much time under the hood as my S2 97)

It shouldn't break by you hooking it up. It might already be bad and set a check engine light. as a preventative measure, buy an EGR gasket.

Then remove the EGR valve and gently push on the pintle valve (black thing) underneath to see if it'* free moving or not. I used carb cleaner to remove some carbon and reinstalled. Works great.
