I messed up bad!! ..any ideas?
Well i thought it would be cool to paint my dash piece (the main piece that detaches) silver. ..So i went to autozone and bought some silver spray paint and it totally fucked up the material and it like started to come up and look horrible. Any ideas on what i should do? I painted it black for now..it looks glossy and horrible though

Unfortunetly.. theres nothing I can think of that can save the dash once it'* painted other then replacement. I"ve seen a few cars where they have the interior painted to match the car and airbrushed with funky stuff on it ( unicorn with a naked chick ) and it still doesn't turn out right... I think your SOL'd...

I'm no expert on this, but i've done a lot of painting... so i mean before u do anything else just try sanding the entire area very carefully until it is as smooth as you can get it. then when it looks almost paintible try putting down a base coat or two of a water based paint... something u can paint over. it'* worth a shot...

Grab some oven cleaner and spray it on the peices that you painteds. Let it sit for a lil bit grab some water and a toothbrush and scrub it off. This should take the paint off of the peices that you painted, and youll be able to start from scratch again.

I can get you a dash kit that is either brushed aluminum or carbon fiber. Both will work. That would be your last resort; first use some solvents to get the paint off. It shouldn’t be too hard.

Go for the solvents and if that does not work try paint thinner . When I oaint , I always grab some soap and a BRILO pad and clean it. The brilo pad usually make the surface great to catch the paint !

I agree, put a base coat on first...thats what I did.
I used car model silver paint as a base, then spray painted a transparent red metallic paint over it. Looks great, besides the few spots where I touched it when it was still wet...oops
