Default Series 1 fuel rails

I have started on some aftermarket fuel rails only trouble I am really having is a way for the injectors to attach to the railwith clips. I wondered if it would be ok to just make something that bolts to factory location to hold down fuel rail and not use the clips on the injectors. What holds the aftermarkets on/down on the series 2?
