My wife'* 92 se is dead on one cylinder, i pull the plug and there is no spark, this is really making the car fail under accelaration and at idle. It sputter a bit, i have no explanation for what this car is doing and sputters was the best word i can find. It will make the entire car shake. I already changed the maf, the wires, plugs....guys please help. i remain urgent upon your response.

Have you tried diffenet coil packs yet? You can test them by swapping the one that has the dead spark on it with one that has 2 good sparking plugs. If the failure follows the coil pack, their is your problem.

My best guess, if you have no spark, is either the coil pack or the ignition module. As far as testing them, I am not sure how other than swapping them out. One of our gearheads will probably step in here soon and give you a few more ideas.

Where exactly is the ignition module?

You have a unique 'application'. The 92'* got a mix of different parts with respect to the ignition. Face the engine from the front. To the left of the front valve cover is a device with all the plug wires going to it. That'* the coil pack. Is it one piece, kinda blocky and square? Or are your 3 coil packs all seperate? The ICM is directly underneath.

HOWEVER.....I'd be more curious to see a compression check. 92'* had no EGR valves, and are notorious for burning valves. A burnt valve can lead to a fouled plug. Tackle the ignition problem first, but don't forget the valve possibility.

this car is killing me, well actually my wallet.....i bought the coil pack today, 70 bucks, i get home and my wife tells me its making a sound and the steering is extememly stiff, well the water pump broke, the actuall pulley was hangin on to the belt, which was shredded and left a nasty mess in the engine compartment. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Hope it all smooths out (the miss and car problems in general).
My dad has a 1989 Buick Lesabre and 1990 Olds 98 with the same ignition setup and he had extreme trouble to get them started on cold days. And the cars weren't running very smooth. So he went on ebay and found someone who was selling new igniton modules and coil pack assembly for them for like $80 -NEW. He bought one setup for each car and the cars have run as smooth as one could hope for ever since -cold starts are no longer a problem and the power is back.

Changed the coil pack, but no luck, there is still no spark from the coil pack to the cylinder.....im thinking ignition module, but its damn expensive....

please help, i dont want to even think this is a valve problem, i.e. several hundred dollars
