Default Need help - 92 EGRless

Hello,

this is my first time using this form. I've recently purchased a 92 bonneville and have nothing but problems from day one. It started out about two weeks after I purchased the car. The vehicle currnetly has around 118 000 miles on it. It started with a broken exhaust rocker pivot bolt on cylinder #4. I have no idea how this happened. The only thing I can speculate is that the cylinder misfired and broke it off. I think this becuase once before it broke there was a period of about 2 minutes when one of the cylinders wasn't firing. Although the fracture appeared to be from fatigue. Anyway, I should get to the point here. I fixed the bolt and everything seemd fine. However now I'm getting the same problem. This now is about a month after I fixed the rocker bolt. As far as I can tell, on speratic occasions lasting for small periods of time. The engine is only running on 5 cylinders. I'm having a lot of trouble diagnosig this problem becuase I am never at a place I can check it when it happens. I've had the car scanned and no codes come up. I am stumped. Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right directions as to what might be going on here?

Thanks

Dave
