Default My perform shift no good?

Does anybody know how to get to the light for the perform shift button, thought i'd ask before trying to take it off and possibly braking the button.Or maybe my light isnt dead? Lemme expain. I Start the car in perform shift the light is on. I put it in gear and it turns off? I always thought the bulb was cooked (been that way since I got it). but if the bulb was cooked it shouldnt come on at all right. The normal shift button doesnt do this. I'v never heard of this before, weird stuff

If it turns on when you turn on your car, it sounds like it is more or less dissengauging rather than burnt out. Is there a noticable diff. in performance shift? If so try starting with it on, and then half way through your ride, turn it off to see if shifts and what not are not as performance oriented. Thats all I got...

I think it works properly (perform shifting). But im still wondering why its turning off on the button when I put it in gear? Mechanic says it could take up to 6 hours to find out why its doing that, and he cant say for sure that he'll even be able to find the problem. Cant beleive something so small would be that hard to figure out, I just dont know how.

I don't know if it is safe... I turn traction controll off and on while driving, I thought that was OK.

When the Performance shift light goes out, does the traction control turn off, also? I have had a couple different issues with my 94 that has caused some similar issues like yours. The traction Control is controlled by the computer, so it is not going to make a big difference if you turn it off while driving. (I don't think ) I have also found that recently, my ABS has been freakin out my traction control too and that will also put the car in a limp mode and not allow performance shift.

ABS and Traction will not put your car in limp mode. 92-95'* have a seperate EBCM module to control it. They are also unrelated to performance shift.

Our PCMs are mostly 'blind' to the ABS/Traction systems.

ABS and traction control are both working fine. Should max rps change between the two options? Its about 5100 to 5300 max but perform and normal are the same. how else can I tell if perform is even working?
