Over the counter octane boosters raise your octane by one point. That'* POINT one, or 0.1 octane per application. That'* too expensive. Better off buying the higher octane fuel to begin with.

For the last year I have been running the lowest price gas I could find. Lately and for now on I am running premium. I do notice alot of good including better mileage. I don't have an autotap, but it would be nice to see the readouts running the different grades of gas. In minnesota we have 10% ethenol in our cheap gas, I wonder it that helps cheap gas out a bit, meaning maybe it'* not as bad as plain cheap gas.

gas
I had an issue a few summers back when i went to a full serve gas station the jackass put regualar gas in my car when i told him to fill it with supreme. I thought i killed my bonnie, it ran like garbage about 30 minutes of driving, i had to get the tank removed and emptied and refilled with supreme, cost me $500, ill never get a full serve gas station after that!

I admit the error of my ways. It'* just that in my 2000 Chevy pickup I have run it all. Nothing really changes. Being a SC newbie I looked in the book.
The good book states that with the SC you can may use middle grade or regular unleaded gasolines, but your vehicle may not accelerate as well. blah blah blah... If the octane is less than 87, you may get a heavy knocking noise when you drive. If it'* bad enough, it can damage your engine.
I am giving my baby a full tank of the best stuff to put me in the poor house and check the power and mileage. You guys have a point that if your mileage is that much better, then it'* costing less to run premium. (and you've got that extra POWER!!!, which I want)
