Default Do I need oil stabalizer?

Recently I noticed my oil gage has been wobbling as I drive. It goes down as I'm slowing down or stopped, and goes up and stays stable when I'm hitting the gas and driving faster.

It'* not swining really hard, just swaying a bit.

On my dad'* truck it swings really badly, and goes all the way down when he'* not giving it gas, the mechanic told him he needs to keep lucas oil stabalizer in there.

That stuff gets expensive. And my engine only has about 86K on it. Is there anything else I can do?

Uh yeah.. how many miles back was that change and why are you topping it off? It really shouldn't be using any.

I had it changed 1100 miles ago with 10W30 oil, I keep up with the oil changes.

I don't remember if I topped it of SINCE then, but when I first had gotten the car it was eating a lot of trans and engine oil. Since I put two bottles of stop leak into my transmission and gotten regular oil changes the guzzling stopped.

Okay. I'm going to change the oil myself next time, took it to grease'n go the last time.

BTW this is a related question, wouldn't a oil-breather cap affect my emissions?
