Default 93 SSEi climate controll

I just purchased a 93 SSEi with 120000mi. My question concerns the climate control not getting warm each time. It is warm sometimes at startup but not each time(I got the car 2 hours ago so my information is limited). Any one else had a similar problem? It is the climate control with the automatic temp control.

Huh, how is it warm on startup, if the engines cold then the air should be the same, unless if has been running. I know in my brothers 93 SSEi that it'* cold for a mile then it starts warming up quick.

Remember the ATC acts like a thermostat in your house. If it is already warm in the car, it won't give warm air, unless set at 90 degrees. And, if the engine isn't warm, it won't give warm air.

Does the temperature display blink when you start the car?

I ran a diagnostic and found a 40 code. This is supposed to be a short or open circut in the driver mix motor. Any one know where that motor is located? I also got a 52 code, some memory thing that should reset when the battery is disconected, but it didn't reset. Any info would be appreciated

Both codes require diagnostic testing to be completed. Without a good copy of the service manual, it becomes very difficult to do. It'* probably time to take the car to someone with a 93 factory service maual (or the dealer).

The air mix valve has to be tested along with the power supply to the HVAC programmer.

You had asked about it flashing, it takes about 2 min, but then the temp reading starts flashing. I cant find in the owners manual what that means, anyone know?

When the temp display was flashing on our '93, it turned out that it was because the system was low on freon.

When it flashes, it means that you have diagnostic trouble codes stored.
