Ok, if you look in the "your ride" section, you can see my video of my car shifting at 6100 RPM...We all know that aint happening. I know the tach is off. I need to know if it is worth it to try to fix it. And if it is, what do I do. Is there something to adjust or is it just a module for the dash. Also, will getting a scan tool on it help?

Your tranny may be slipping severely just like it appears Marty'* is a topic below this.

The tach may be correct. You need to check it with a scantool at the higher rpm'*.

Your tach can read LOW (lagging), but not high.

Is there any way to "feel" the TC slipping? Because at WOT, I dont feel any let off of power. If this helps, it does seem to cuise high. 70 MPH with 2.84 is not 2300, but thats what my tach reads. It doesnt sound like that though. I really just think my tach is off, but I'm open to any other suggestions. I may try to borrow and autozone scanner soon. I may try to lay off WOT take off'* for now.

**edit...watch my speed. I have another video with the speed also. Pat (1993SLE) said that my speed doesnt match the tach for the 2.84**

**edit2...I have never hit fuel cutoff or rev limiter EVER. It shifts like normal. I am trying to post stuff that I am learning from OBE'* trans post.**

You won't hit the rev limiter, it'* really not possible with these cars while driving unless you needle it out.

I would check the RPM at a shop that can use a different tool to read the RPMs (not a scan tool)

you can hit fuel cutoff like Hans, so i dont think that is it. i will get it checked out soon though.

if it is the dash that is off.. you need to take it all apart and run it plugged in without the clear plastic on the front, and move and adjust the needle as you drive... quite complicated

just to clear a few things up

both cars shift great at WOT

I can see how things might be confusing since

a. we were not creative enought to actually create a username seperate from our real names or nicknames

b. we both drive half mint 1993 sseis

c. we both live in the middle of nowhere in the rockies.

d. both cars have had "performance oriented" tranies in the last few thousand miles.

if the needle is placed on the shaft in the wrong position, yes it can.. this was the problem i had to deal with when i had my dash all apart...

i had to reseat all the needles on the shaft, (more like a pin) and make sure they were all correct before i could actually put it back together
