Ok so I am pretty sure it'* burning a little oil after driving it its more of a hint of bluish smoke also i pulled the pcv and there oil in it and around it could this be cause by too much oil i noticed its a little high also what else could cause this the oil pressure light has always been low while idling after highway driving as well but is good when cold anyone have any ideas

The one on the dash it indicates around 40 when cold but when it'* fully warm it jumps around a lot sometimes causing a check gauge chime the car runs so smooth I thought it to be an error and before my upper intake manifold went bad there was no smoke or signs of bluish smoke at all should I change the oil and run thicker oil

Normally, when oil is cold, its thick and harder to push through the engine.(= high oil pressure). When the oil becomes hot it becomes thinner and is easier to push around(= low oil pressure)

Now, the same happens when the oil is old, except, you may see a lower oil pressure even at colder temps.

So yes, do change your oil. Especially after any intake work has been done to it.

What'* the thickest oil you would run I want to put something thick in also could that be why oil is getting to get pcv and sucked back into the motor i am pretty sure it'* coming in threw the pcv

How long has it been since you have changed the oil?
As mentioned already, changing it after any intake job is a must.
You did replace the old PCV Valve when you got the LIM kit right?


As for an oil suggestion, I'd not run thicker oil, just get some 10W30 Synthetic oil, it will cost a little more than the old non-synthetic oil, but in my opinion it is worth spending a little more for.
I'd also consider going with a bit bigger oil filter, I'll be going with a Napa Gold 1036 the next time I do mine, based on Mike'* recommendations in a previous thread, I would verify with Mike that it will also work on your 95', I am pretty sure most of your motor is the same as mine, except for things like the MAP Sensor.


I don't think you can totally stop all of the blow back you are experiencing, unless you install a oil catch can for the PCV, I do not know enough about that at the moment, butif it keeps the intake cleaner, then I would like to have one some day.
Normally you should not have enough to create blue smoke all of the time, but a little blow back will always be present inside the UIM, so even if you get it to stop smoking, expect to see an oil coated UIM if you ever have to remove it again.
I am not saying you do not have an issue, you do if you are getting blue smoke, I am just trying to be sure you know a little blow back is normal, it is usually burned off without you being able to notice.

I'd get that oil and oil filter changed, and grab another PCV Valve just to be sure yours is not faulty, it could have gotten a bit gummed up from the old oil, they are only around 2.00-3.00, unless you go with the AC Delco CV8922C, that would be the PCV Valve I'd go with.

What is the benefit of the bigger filter

I'm a late comer here, but could I ask for a picture of the oil you drain while it'* still in your drain pan? Just a thought! If you have time that is! Thanks!

A larger oil filter will provide more filtering coverage area.

I use STP, I suppose NAPA is fine, but stay away from FRAM, the filter media is known to break down and kill the engine.
For your stock filter, you would use STP S3387A. The bigger version of the filter is STP S3980. Which is longer than the one your use to installing.

Again, we highly recommend changing your oil since you did an intake gasket change recently.
