HI, I have a 90' Bonneville SSE and my DIC and Compass only come on half the time, and when they do come on they only come on at half brightness. I have tried all fuses under the dash, and the fuses behind the glove compartment. what else could it possibly be?

It sounds like you have a problem with the circuitry that dims the VF displays, or the wiring to or from it. When your headlamps are on, those displays should be at half brightness.

Is there a relay for them? because they do dim when you turn on the headlamps even more, sometimes shuting them off completely... I would really like to get them working at full brightness.

Turn the headlamps on. What happens when you spin the dimmer dial up and down? How do the rest of the red interior lamps respond? How do the VF displays respond?

everything dims properly except the climate control... the DIC and Compass do dim further, and when you turn the dial they go further, until they shut off...
but the strange thing is that they sometimes they work 100% perfect.

I know the 92-99s have a problem with those same displays. I'm not sure where the circuitry is for the VF displays in the 90. You need the wiring diagram from the factory service manual. On my car it is inside the instrument panel, which means the whole panel would have to be replaced. The climate control VF dimmer is actually inside the radio on 92-93 models.

But, on yours, I'm not sure. Wherever it is it sounds like the wiring to or from it, or the circuitry is going bad. Your headlamp dimmer switch and its wiring seem to be fine.

Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for my 90 SSE? i would really like to get theses working soon. its not a really big deal if i have to replace the instrument panel, but b4 i do, i would like to make sure it is that...

This is where I would send my instrument panel to be repaired. These guys do GM work. Possibly they can answer questions.
