Default Y- Pipe Exhaust is confusing me..

Ok i've been lookin at some sweet exhaust systems with some friends and they are all based on one pipe..like mufflers etc.. . Since i have a y-pipe is my muffler set back further or something..and then the y spouts out of that? I'm really wantin somethin to make me sound like a V8 or somethin. 95SSEi has some intriguing exhaust..but out of my $$$ range. What would you suggest for me for the most bang for the buck perspective. Realistically i only wanna go catback..i dunno.

You could probably get a similar setup as me for less $$$. I just didn't have the time or the means to do anything myself or much shopping around. The two biggest cost factors in mine were the 3" stainless steel with Mandrial bends and the labor to get it all to match up underneth. If you got the muffler and the tips yourself, you could probably have a local muffler shop do the rest for pennies compared to my setup. It also depends on your pipe diameter and what you do with the cat (leave, replace, remove).
