I was looking at all of our windshield de-icer products at work, and I was wondering how well they really work.
Some say that it prevents ice and frost buildup for a few days, but I don't know if I could trust it. One of the big name prodcuts we sell is Rain-X De-icer. I've used Rain-X on my car for the rain, and it worked well, so I was wondering if anybody has used any of these ice products before. If so, how good are they?

I don't know about de-icers.....my WS thaws out pretty quickly, but as far as the rain repellants, I'll tell you Rain-X might be good, but it'* far from the best. Try No Touch Rain Shield, spray it on a wet windshield and turn the wipers on. I use 2 applications about an hour apart, lasts longer than Rain-X, and easier to apply. Or even better, my local glass dealer hooked me up with a product from PPG when he replaced my windshield last month. It lasts 4-6 months. You can only get it from a glass distributor, usually only if they apply it for you, but mine sold me some. Here'* a link:
