There'* not too much for the Series I L67.
You can do a pulley swap. Get a smaller pulley on the blower. You can also do the plugs and air intake. A lot of people make homemade air intakes with K&N filters.

any F body mufler will fit perfectly, a flowmaster, magnaflow, or dynomax are the #3 choices.
Flowmaster $73 (80 series) on jegs.com
hi flow cat'* help a lot, and get some nice tips!
Magnaflow run a lil more then $100.
Don't replace the tubing, it'* perfect for your engine. and is top of the line.

SE are 2 1/4 but you can get a flange.
Lots of options for series 1 now. You can do rockers, cam, get a P&P thru Domestic performance, there'* even a complete Head kit by Eagle, supposedly around 400 HP, but it'* $7400. Series 1 is just as modd-able as series II just gotta do some on your own but it'* easy.
