Hi guys. I hope I did not overlook this problem having allready been discussed, but I have a problem with my AC/ heater vents not blowing air.

I know that my ac compressor is bad and AC is not of a concern to me right now. My bearings were going bad so I bypassed the compressor by using a 72.5 inch belt.. ( thanks guys for the info in another post!) Over the last season, I noticed my air flow seemed to be low even though the electronic display was on high. over the last two weeks, it has confirmed my thoughts by sometimes only blowing on the lowest setting ( even though the control is still on high) and then sometimes last week not blowing at all. It did eventually come back on after turning it off for a few minutes. Anyway, this week, it completely stopped blowing out of any vent, including floor or windshield.

By the way the car is a 1994 SSE.

Now I have searched a few old topics and noticed that they have relays and maxi fuses. I inspected all the fuses under the drivers dash, and the passenger'* dash and the large maxi fuses on the firewall above the blower motor. I do not know wich if any large relay it could be in any of the above mentioned locations.

So I figured one of you guys could probably help me locate a solution. Even though my AC will not work anyway, I shure do want some air flow for defrost, and heat later in the year. You guys have helped me in the past fix the vacume for the defalt air flow and a couple of other things. Thanks!

I haven't heard of these symptoms before, but I think Its the blower control module which is located on the top of the condensor airbox and below the relay center. Usually when they fail, the fan either blows when the car is turned off, or it doesnt' blow at all, but it could still be your problem. To test it, loosen the relay center from the firewall to get access to the BCM. Next unplug the BCM and check voltages. Set the blower to high and check the voltage between the purple wire and ground. It should vary from low voltage at low fan speed to battery voltage at maximum fan speed. If it doesn't, the the BCM is the problem.

Somebody jump in here...did the wire colors change from 93 to 94? If the colors changed then don't take my advice.
