Default Shift **** Removal Help!

I'm trying to get the shift **** off a 1995 Bonneville and am having no luck at all. I've done a search and seen a few posts referring to some sort of C-Clip, but I'm really not sure what that'* referring to. If anyone can offer some help and/or pictures that'd be really appreciated.

It is on the front side, near the bottom. Look for a slit. It is in there. You'll need to pry it out with a small flathead screw driver.

Default trying to help..

Yeah, I replaced my stock console shifter with an Ichibahn Red and platinum automatic shifter.. There is a little slit on the same side as the push-button..Just kind of pry it up and it should pull off.
