Default Wierd exaust noise

OK, this may or may not be a big deal but heres how it is.... When ever i hit 2000 rpms my exuast goes from a quiet hum to a loud moan. Its only on the 2000 mark. it happens if i jsut go over it, or if i keep it at 2000 rpms it'll keep making the noise. What is this? Also, it seems like bonnie has been having problems switching gears as fast as she used too. Any relation to each other? Any easy fix i can do? I appreciate the help if you know anything. Thanks

You're going to have to get under your car, and shake/kick everything. If it'* a harmonic (vibrates at a certian frequency) it can be hard to find. Pay the most attention to your catalytic converter. When you shake or kick it, do you hear any noise? Anything rattling? Same with the muffler. These are the two devices in your exhaust where something can come loose inside and rattle.

On my 93 I had a heat shield rattling just above the muffler (below the trunk). It was similar to your situation and would only rattle at certain RPMs (between 1500 and 2500). I got under there and looked and a bolt that screws into the bottom of the shield and into the frame and fallen out. I installed a new screw and no more rattles.

For the transmission shifting problem, have it professionally flushed.
