Default Water pump replacement...

Well, I took my car into the dealer today supposedely because of a problem that they caused before, but it turns out my water pump is dying. The part itself isn't expensive, but apparently the labor is very (3-4 hours+), and I hate throwing the cash away to a dealer if I can do this myself.

My question for you guys is, how hard, and how long, would it take to replace one? I have air tools, 3 1/2 ton jack, etc... and a good deal of knowledge, but I haven't done any extensive engine work on this engine in the past, and I don't quite know all of its quirks...

Any advice would be appreciated :?

Hate to reply to my own post, but I answered some of my own questions, so at least i've been a little bit productive.

I got a repair manual for my car from the local library, and the only thing about doing this replacement that kinda scares me is taking off the power steering pump. Does anybody know if i'd have to drain and refill my power steering fluid in doing this? Also, how challenging would that part be, as it'* not detailed in the repair manual.

Thanks again in advance.

Will I have to drain the PS fluid though, or is the pump sorta self contained? Obviously most of the fluid is in the resevoir, but...

I don't recall draining anything on mine when I changed the water pump (other than coolant ofcoarse).
