Default guy gave me an engine >>>?

i bought a lawn mower from a gentleman over the weekend and he had an enigne in the garage also, i ask about it and he told me it was from a 95 bonneville and i could have it. i brought it home with the intention of using it for parts, but now considering a rebuild and maybe extras one to it. Are these heads better than the ones on my ssei or should i keep what i got, or do a complete engine build and swap. thanks for you opinions

Is the engine you got for free a N/A or */C'd engine?

You also have OBD issue as well, I would stick to taking parts from the 95 engine.

Dont forget, 95 NA = Series 2, 95 SC'd = Series 1

There would be some parts off a 95 */C'd motor that he could use and benefit from...which ones exactly I dunno...But I don't think that N/A'd parts would do him any good at all.

Yea, pick parts if you CAN. Or, take the engine and make a little money by parting it out.

Default 3800 power

i have a 92 ssei, i guess what i was thinking was either building the engine and swapping it out, or maybe pulling the heads from the (NA) 95 motor and having the valves ground and maybe even have the head shaved a little. i've had vw/porsche stuff for the last 6 years and just getting into something more reliable at this point. thanks for the advice so far.

You can't use the heads off an NA because they're different I know that.

92 L27 heads are the same as 92 SSEi heads.

93-94 L27 and 93-95 L67 heads are the same.
