Ouch!! If I'd known you were going to splice I would have told you not to. I replaced a door on my ex'* 1993 Bonneville SLE about 2 years ago. I disconnected all the wiring connectors from the pl, pw, pm, and speakers. Pulled the wiring harness out through the boot, bolted up the new door, fished the harness back in a reconnected all the plugs. Disconnecting all the plugs, and pulling them out of the door was a piece of cake. Much easier than cutting, matching and splicing.
From start to finish I had it done in less than 45 minutes, and I only used hand tools. No power tools and I only had help to hold the door up when mounting the new one.
Sorry that I didn't tell you this sooner.
