Default check engine light (O2)

Hey guys long time since I been on. Anyway I've been havin a c/e light but only if the car idles in place for like 8-10minutes or so. It won't come on as long as I'm driving but once it comes on it stays on until car is restarted. Months ago a scan detected a O2 sensor. I replaced it but it kept happening. When I took car in for inspection last month I askd them to scan for a code again. Mechanic told me O2 sensor. I happened to have an xtra one in basement (brand new) and I installed it. Still same problem. As far as performance the only thing I notice is if I'm cruisin in the range of 60mph and i need to excelerate a little to go up an incline I get a jerking effect. But if I accelerate hard it doesnt happen. I don't know if the problems are related but I did want to know if these 2 problems together sound like failure of any other sensor that maybe the mechanic didn't realize or get a proper reading? :(

We need to know which oxygen sensor code you are getting. The jerking is probably because you have a misfire.

Thanks for the link. I will try to test the coils and clean the ICM this weekend. I will also try to get the exact code again.

I'm with Fuddy. I'd suspect the jerking to me a misfire as well, and the O2 a possible broken wire. You may have to shoot this from the O2 to the PCM. Let us know what you find, and we'll get you through it.

2 seperate problems, unrelated.

Moving this to 92-99.
