Smile 1992 SSEI Ignition cylinder removal

The key has broken off in the door, and i am just thinking of changing everything out. how do you pull the Ignition Cylinder without the key?

i dont know, if they do ill change out those its easier this is one that i am thinking on buying and all the bonnevilles and other pontiac'* i have owned only use one key, but they have been much newer than a 92

Yeah, as far as my car goes, and I think early GM will be the same in this case, everything will use one key <doors, glovebox, trunk> except ignition. So, you will have to rekey the set <both front doors, trunk, glovebox> if you just want it redone. Also, being an SSEi, it is likely to have Keyless entry, which may help you out also.

Just pulled the ignition cylinder on my 93 tonight, as it was stuck "on". The door lock key is the round one, where ignition is square. Another option you could try if you still have a spare key, is to swap the driver and passenger door cylinder if they are interchangable. That way you can keep it "original" for 50 years down the road! Who ever uses a key in the passenger door anyway? Spend the money and get some fobs if you don't have them already.
