Yeah so a couple of weekends ago i was lubeing up my brakes and my buddy says look dude is your control arm not attached i saw what he was talking about but just didnt care, any way later tht night i asked him was that really my contol arm and he siad he wasnt really sure, thats when i went on the internet and started looking around i came to the conclusion that it was either my steering linkage or my anti-sway bar , by the way i am talking about the front end of my car. It is on the left side. Now if it was my steering linkage i think it would be impposible to turn with it not being connected so i believe it leaves me with the anti-sawy bar. Any way my question is since only one side is missing the hardware to mount it can i buy that hardware somewhere. Any informatioin, pictures would be great. oh yeah is it safe to drive with one side not connected?

well if its the sway bar then you can drive with it disconnected, it shouldnt cause any harm but you will have excessive body roll during turns and will stress the suspension and steering parts in the front.

the kit for the end links is available just about everywhere and shouldnt be much money.

what year is your car......believe it or not, some Bonnes were shipped without endlinks from the factory .....

this might be your case, or its possible that you just need some replacements.....I would advise driving the car like this

i have a 1995 bonneville, its connected on the right side but not the left. So this hardware is called endlinks, are the endlinks are standard for most sway bar kits i imagine, and the endlink kits contain bushings washers and that long bolt with a nut right. I think i will check pepboys and autozone they should have this kit right

Yes, most parts shops should have the hardware, but judging from other members accounts, go for the Energy endlinks.

Do both sides. I know Autozone sells the kits, and I believe Pep Boys also (the Energy Suspension Poly endlink kits) and seriously consider doing the rear also. That'* a different kit.

Some 1997 Bonnevilles shipped from the factory missing the right front endlink. About 5000 cars if I recall. All or most should have been recalled long ago.

i was also wondering what these sway bars do for the car, from what i understand it helps stablize the car but i was also thinking that it would kind of act like a strut bar on the bottom? Also is it stock for all bonnes to have strut bars cause i have one i was just wondering

I just recently discovered mine(endlink) was missing since birth...Its ok to drive without it..but get it replaced when you can..my car has handled sooooo much better since having one..the fenders don't "dip" anymore..the front end stays stiff and level when turning sharp
