Default Charcoal Canister

Could anybody tell me how to change a charcoal canister filter on a 1995 SSEI?

The reason I ask is because I'm getting a ticking sound at the top on the canister while the engine is running. It ticks about 10 times per second. This is a picture of the canister that I'm referring to. Is that ticking sound normal?

Clicking sound means it'* working properly. You don't have to change anything.
It'* a purge valve solenoid that makes clicking sound.
You will have to look at it when it stop clicking(means not working).

As stated, the ticking is normal. It'* usually more/only audible in cold weather. But you may want to replace your vacuum line on it. It looks a little dry-rotted.

There'* no filter to change. Ticking is normal and all is well. When you are here..I think we are going to flush your blinker fluid and change your muffler bearings though.

Very Good observation. That est. one inch attaching vacuum line does look near the end of it'* life.

I have replaced the vaccuum line since it crumbled as I grabbed it. Good catch bonnie94ssei.
Funny Bill, I changed the muffler bearing before I certified it. They charged me $125.47. And as for my blinker fluid, the previous owner said they changed it before I took posession of the car. Bill, you and I are going to have a talk when I get to NEBF, and there won't be any witnesses.

How loud is the ticking noise? Is it a very soft sound, that is hard to hear? Or is it something that would be recognizeable with the engine running? I'm not hearing anything from mine and other informations indicates I may need to replace the solenoid. Thanks.

It was loud enough that I could hear it with the engine running. when I put my hand on the canister, I felt the ticking on the top.

There are certain parameters that need to be met...aka the car must be a full operating temp for x amount of time..
