You can look in a Chiltons, but I doubt it'* in there. If it'* anywhere to be found it'd likely be in the FSM.

there is some information in the Chiltons but it seems to be more geared toward installing a new one than adjusting the old one...it does have the procedue for adjusting the new one though.
I dont really want to type it all out, but i can if you want, its on pg 7-2 and 7-3 of mine.

Sorry...my understanding is somewhere between 92-99 they changed the shifter. When they did that it went from a manual that was adjustable to a sensor mounted on the shifter. Pretty sure you need the manual one with the adjustability procedure.

ok fine
for 1991-1995 vehicles
1. set the parking brake and place the gear shift selctor in N
2. remove the manual shaft nut
3. disconnect the cable/ bracket from the transmission shaft
4. remove the switch retaining bolts
5. detach the electrical connector
6. remove the nut from the starter
7. disconnect the cable
8. remove the park/neutral position switch
To install:
9. Connect the cable
10. install the nut and tighten to 35 in lbs
11. attach the electrical connector
12. make sure the transaxle shaft is still in neutral. If it has been moved rotate the shaft clockwise from park through reverse, into neutral, being careful not to damage the shaft flats, corners, or threads
13. install the park/neutral position switch, as follows:
a.align the flats in the park/neutral position switch with the transaxle manual shaft flats.
b.press the park/neutral position switch onto the shaft and fully seat against the transaxle
14. when installing the original switch, insert a gauge pin or 3/32 drill bit into the service slots. new replacement park/neutral position switches are already pinned into the neutral postion.
15. install the retaining switch retaining bolts and tighten to 20 ft lbs
16.remove the gauge pin or drill bit if installed previously
17. place the linkage cable/bracket onto the manual shaft
18. install the nuts
after adjusting the park/neutral postion switch, make sure the engine only starts in park or neutral. If the engine starts in any other position, readjust the switch
19. adjust the switch as follows
a. place the transaxle control shifter assembly in the neutral notch in the detent plate
b. loosen the switch attaching bolts
c.rotate the switch on the shifter assembly to align the service adjustment slots
d. insert a gauge pin or 3/32 drill bit in the service slots
e. tighten the attaching screws to 20 ft lbs and remove the gauge pin
20. check for proper operation and adjust as needed
i pray that helped....if not please lie to me and tell me it did
