Rust-What to Do
What can be done about this rust?
Look at these pics to see what im talking about?
The ceilling in my car is moldy or something too it doesnt smell but i went out to take some pics the other day and there was a little bit of that going on for a very long time but now the ceiling is starting to sag and its spreading all over its been sitting for about 2 years how could it be getting worse when it has been inside?
COuld my weatherstripping around the roof of the car shot because I think that is what it is and what can be done about this?

Do me a favor and push on the part of the headliner that looks like it'* "rusting" Tell me if you hear a crunching sound. I can't believe that would be rust, it'* probably just water, but with the pics I really can't tell. Regardless, you're gonna have to change out your headliner soon...
All of the other pics look like surface rust, which isn't bad but it isn't good either, except for this one...

Hopefully a mod or admin can move this to Detailing & Appearance to help you fix that rust...

How bad is that one is that one potentially dangerous or is it just cosmetic what can be done about the rust can I just spray it with like a rustoleum or what?
Did you see the other pics is that the weatherstripping coming away from the roof or is it supposed to be like that?
I think that may be the caus eof the headliner molding or whatever?

If I just leave this rust alone and dont do anything about it how long would my car last before IT was very obviously rusting and then death?
Is this car worth puting a new engine in it only has 120k on the body and the transmission was recently flushed?
Days before I was told the engine was blown I put over $400 worth of parts and fixups on this car

Alright. Get us pictures of your subframe mounting bolts. Thats the most crucial "safety" area for rust. We've had a few cars drop theirs, and I have no idea why my 89'* never did.
Also, you're probably taking in water from somewhere, maybe a window seal? maybe a door seal? maybe through the floor.
Set aside a little while to do some investigating. Pull out the backseat and check for rust there, if possible, pull out a seat, probably the passenger would be easiest, and pull up the carpet. that should tell you how severe this is, or isn't.
Get pictures of every step.

Where are the subframe mounting bolts located?

I was thinking of just replacing the mirror and the engine but would this car be worth it or would it just become a money pit

The only reason I would see to fix that car is that you are enotionally atached to it. Or you are looking for a project car, & you love the looks of the Bonneville. But money-wise is not worth it. All that rust will take a long time to fix, & it will come back eventually.
You mentioned that it needs a new engine, but Im not shure if you plan on doing the work or paying someone to do it for you.
for the money you are going to spend fixing, painting & installing a new engine you can buy a no-rust original-engine Bonneville.
But if you really into fixing this one car, I say go for it. there is no cooler car out there than a Bonneville.

How long do you think I will be able to use this car if I get a new engine and just leave the rust how it is?
Would it be better to fix the rust?
Oh yeah and on the roof of my car the seal or weatherstripping or whatever you want to call it is about a half an inch away from the edge of the roof on the sides of the car but firmly attached around the windshields
Is this normal for Bonnevilles or is this a problem
