97 bonnevill won't start
Got in car, started up just fine, after a few min turned off to put some stuff in trunk. Got back in to start... NOTHING.
Interior lights on, bells ding all that good stuff but won't start.
So tried to jump it, after a bit tried to start and got quick clicking sounds.
Never even tried to turn over or anything.
Put charger on it. Nothing.
Cleaned cables *yes on set of them I think the pos was a greenish corroded, took the post out, was a lot of corrosion there also. Cleaned out, put back on... nothing. I will say, the cables are sorta rusted on that one side.
Would we be so lucky that is the problem? Why would it have started just fine and 5 min later the cables be so bad as to not start it?
Some say its the starter which we can't seem to get off. Only see one of the bolts that hold it in. And that one is hard to get to. Going to have to use a wrench to get it off cause there is some sort of traingular tabby that goes to bolt that prevents using socket on it.
Neither my husband or myself are very good at any of this.
Help would be appreciated.
So far we haven't been able to locate the other bolt to remove starter.

Hmmm,
Remove all rust from the cables, coat with dielectric grease, and re-install.
After boosting the car, it still wouldn't start??
The fact that you heard clicking is a good sign. At least it sounds like an insufficient voltage issue.
Wouldn't hurt to get a load test on the battery.
Please also update your signature with year and trim details so we know what you're working on.
Cheers,
Adam

It is possible that with the corrosion, the alternator cable that runs to the battery was loose and not charging the battery
