Car died today, need help quick
My car died on the road today. After letting it sit for an hour it started up and ran fine but soon died again. I hit the nipple on the fuel regulator to find plenty of fuel. Spark is good (from the plugs at least). No engine codes whatsoever.
I'm going back with some tools to check and see if the plugs are full of fuel. But after that I'm clueless. Any ideas???

Sounds almost as if the Crank sensor is going out...

Maybe a plugged catalytic converter.

You have spark correct?
When you turn the ignition on, the pump will run for about 2 seconds... And will not run again untill you crank the car...
Its hard to say what the problem may be at this point...
Maybe a fuel pressure test...
Possibly a, exahust system back pressure test....
Paul, anymore thoughts?

Now that you mention it the car sputtered for a second just last weekend while stopped at a light. Lasted for a split second then all was good again. THe fuel filter was replaced a few months back by the dealer. The tech described it as filthy, and proceeded to do an injector service too.

Had it towed to my dealer this morning, says it'* the fuel pump. The reason why the car would die then start after sitting is becasue the heat built pressure in the lines allowing the car to start.... makes sense
My fuel guage sender hasn't worked in months so since the tank has to be dropped I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone. If it wasn't so damn hot lately I'd do it myself, oh well it'* only money right.....
Thanks for all the quick replies!!
