Default Mysterious car part.

94 SSEi

Ok, I just wanna know what the thing that is above the exhaust that has a tube that connects to the exhaust, and then runs a tube to the backside of the air intake? I figured it'* kinda like that thing that'* on the turbo, but just curious. It makes weird noises when ignition comes on.

Sorry for the terms, I'm new to the induced air-flow autos.

It shouldn't make any noises. Is it black?

that be it. It makes like a grinding noise. I'm guessing it'* something else around it, cause EGR don't make noises (I assume). I'll have to look into the noise a little further. I could feel the friction touching it when I had a buddy key the car.

Is the SES (Service Engine Soon) light on? If I recall, it should not make any noises.
