Yes, if they have not had the chance to keep it overnight yet, they should do so.

Welp picked it up my car....and still nothing....like I said it even stalled on them (like I prayed for) and they still said they cant figure it out......we werent happy. But ...needless to say, I needa car thats reliable, and acg_ssei I did get a car I wanted (huge smile!) I kinda needed a car now because I babysit and drive kids daily, not to mention my own kids and so I needed a reliable car so tonite we went out and one just caught my eye.....dont kill me because its not a bonneville, BUT its a pontiac....its a grand prix GTP ....its so pretty, and we got it in our price range......we did a little talking, (ya know how salesmen can be) but anyways, Im happy....but to be honest, I would have loved to keep my car.....we still have it, and I dont think Dan is gonna give up on it......I really dont. He wants to fool with it some more ......its almost like a mission now. And Jr, I wish you WERE my neighbor, cuz maybe after all this back and forth, the problem would have been solved already. Im sure you'll be hearing from me when he starts working on my car again. Thanx again you guys

*splutter* Okay, that'* enough for me right there; you really need to start going elsewhere for your service.

"By the way, Miz Pattie, can we interest you in our extended service plan? We cover everything for a thousand bucks a year!"

"But so far you haven't actually been able to _fix_ anything on my car."

"Yes, but this way we won't charge you for it!"

Okay, good, at the moment you have the best of both worlds, then; a reliable car to get around in, and you didn't trade in the Bonneville (which would have been a bad idea on two counts: they'd only pay you wholesale for it and/or offset their payment to you by a higher price for your GTP, and as someone else pointed out, there'* a very good chance that they'll fix it in 10 minutes and have it out on the used-car lot that afternoon.) I think a lot of us here are a little skeptical about their motives.

I would ask around and get recommendations for another service place. I think the one you're going to is making way too much out of this for whatever reason. To begin with, I would start with a repair place that (1) is recommended by your friends and (2) doesn't want to sell you a replacement car at the same time (i.e. a full-time repair shop, not a car dealer).
