I clean my engine compartment usually once every six months. I use simple green and a garden hose. When you do this, make sure you kink the hose and only spray water where it should be. Avoid electrical wires to the best of your ability and DO NOT get any water near that black box next to the air filter box (that'* your PCM). Make sure you also clean the top of the transaxle bell housing real well so it can cool easier.

Next time you clean your engine, only use ArmorAll all purpose cleaner. The less water you use the better. Something about spraying an engine with water :?
I'm goin for a custom engine cleaning next week for $35 bux. The guys that are doing it, don't use water...only rags and products. They did a friends car on Monday like showroom.
Crazy...you more then likely got something really wet and/or it dislodged. Can't say for sure..sorry :(

Haha, this is an easy one. Lets just say it'* time to upgrade your coil packs to a nice set of packs from MSD!
I did the exact same thing last fall. I cleaned off my engine and was a little happy with the water. Well, it turned out that my middle coil pack got wet and fried. I had similar problems as what you described. I was getting what seemed to be almost like backfire, a rough idle, stumbling on acceleration, and more. Took it to the shop (thinking I literally blew up the engine internals) and they just replaced a coil pack and everything was back to normal.
I am not sure if the 92'* use the same packs as the 95'* but I do have some spare ones (known good) sitting in my garage right now
