Sounds like an electrical problem. Has there been any aftermarket work done on your car, like a remote starter or car alarm?

Does either side of the fog lamp switch light up? The lamp symbol is supposed to come on in red when you have your headlamps on, and the circle side is supposed to come on in amber when you turn your fog lamps on.

The fogs are on with the low beams but they get killed when you hit the high'*
That'* what I said in my original post. Fog lights go out when the high beams come on. With the high beam indicator on all the time, maybe the fogs are seeing the brights on all the time and the fogs won't come on because of that.

Do you have a test light to see if there'* power to the fog sockets? Take the bulbs out and see if the test light comes on when you probe the bulb contact inside the socket. If you don't have power to the sockets, maybe it'* because the high beam indicator is lit all the time. Just a suggestion.

My fogs stay on whether i have high or low beams...as long as fog switch and headlights are on..........

If yours does not...then you DO have a problem...

well the guy that had the car before me was big into the stereo scene and went into competitions and all that good stuff...so maybe he did knock somthing loose or shorted somthing? also i DO get an amber light on the switch on the overhead console, but still no fog'*. ill use an electrical tester to see if there is any power....
got the car for $500 with a bad tranny, so it does have its fair share of problems, but nothing a little TLC cant fix lol

This is a '92 SE, but it has the foglight switch in the overhead console? I thought that was only on SSE and SEEi models, because on those, the controls for the Heads Up Display are to the left of the steering column, where the SE models have their foglight switch.

Anyhow, the amber light comes on when the foglights are (supposed to be) on. (The little foglight symbol on the switch is also backlit in red whenever the dash lights are on; I assume that is not what you're referring to.)

The foglights, and the amber indicator light on your foglight switch, should go off when the car'* high beams go on. Foglights operate only with parking lights and low-beam headlamps.

Does your turn-signal lever work properly to switch between high and low beam?

the badge says its an SE.....
anywho, the passenger headlight was completely busted out and the high beam bulb was broke, could this be why the indicator on the gauge panel is constantly lit?
as soon as the snow/ice clears up ill figure the fog lights out, i just wanted some ideas as to why they might not be working. i really apreciate all your guy'* help. this is a cool BB and i will deffinately stick around. thanks again to all of you

I'm glad you told us about the headlight. Try to get the old bulbs out. I would guess that the damaged bulbs are causing the power from the low beams to trickle into the high beam circuits and vice-versa because the old filaments may be touching.
