Torque Converter ID
Hey guys,
I'm new to the Bonneville scene as I have just purchased a 95 SE 'Series 2 engine' with a bad tranny (bad reverse reaction shell). The problem I have is verifying a replacement for the torque converter. I always like replacing the tc whenever I have a tranny failure. The label on the TC says FL9B-867 but when I got to Advance Auto to order (partsamerica.com) the description says that this TC was used in the 4T60 not the 4T60-E. I am the second owner and the original owner said the tranny has never been replaced. The real confusing part of identifing this thing is not knowing if the car has ECCC or not. I assume it doesnt but I would appreciate a confirmation from someone that knows. I've read that replacing with the wrong TC will cause lock up shudder and maybe premature failure as a result of heat from the controlled slippage of the ECCC converters. Any ideas are welcomed....
