Default A?C Stopped Cooling

I replaced my battery and now my A/C stopped cooling. The blower works but the air is not cold :?:

Might need an A/C recharge if you don't have any leaks on your hoses.

I find that hard to understand. Wouldn't I have noticed a gradual problem with the air if the freon was leaking?

Is the compressor clutch spinning when the AC is on?
Or is the AC controller display flashing the temp?
