advise on breaking loose a rusted fuel filter?

Default advise on breaking loose a rusted fuel filter?

so i was tihnking thatsome ofmy problems maybe cause by the fuel filter and i bought a new, lifted the car, and i see the current filter is rusted, and its so rusted that it will nto come off, i bliasted some power lube at it for a few mintues and still nothing, i accidentally stripped the fuel line fititng a little bit but nothing terrible, then i gave up and let it wait till i have a paln, so any advise on breaking itloose or anyone know of anything thatll break up rust really well?

A spray of PB BLASTER and patience......also try a good fitting vise grips on that stubborn fitting......couldnt recommend a torch! LOL>>>>>>

was the first thing that popped into my mind, then I rememberred we were deal with the FUEL FILTER I just used a good set of vice grips when I did mine.

i've changed two this way.

Release fuel pressure... get car in air.

Undo the quick release and put a line wrench on the fuel line nut. Then using another wrench turn the fuel filter...holding the line wrench steady. Do not let the line wrench turn and damage the fuel line.

you know what size its supposed to be? iu ithnk its might just be caused by the rust but nothing i have standard or metric fits it so iwas using and adjustable wrench

I think it'* a 15mm on the line. It took a little PB blaster and wiggling to get the wrench on. Then the filter is large... I forget what size.

the filter is bigger than a 19, and 15? wow, i only manged to get a 16 1/2way on

Might be a 16.. it took a bit of working on and off to get it all the way on. yeah..the filter is big...Adjustable?
