Default A/C clutch bearings

Hi,

Awhile ago I posted a message about the barking noise im getting from the A/C compressor area. Its does it whether the compressor is on or off. I was told the bearings in the clutch idler pulley are bad. How do you go about replacing those? Do i need some sort of special tools? Everything is breaking on this d*mn car!!
195,000 though..

if it is like my parents truck you will have to buy the entire compressor which is cheaper than replacing the clutch because it is pressed on and i dont think you can get it off without the proper tools.

The clutch can be pulled by using an AC clutch puller right in place without taking off the compressor. You can either buy a reman AC clutch (comes complete and retails about $230 CAD) which will press right back on. Or, the bearing itself can be replaced. R&R of the clutch at flate rate is approx 1.8hrs. You will want a shop to do this for you probably. Call around to a GM dealership because those guys have no doubt chnaged bearings on the GM compressors. Don't let them push you around by saying that you need complete compressors or anything like that.

ehh crap. My dad would fix it before it would go into the dealer. Where can I get an A/C clutch puller? would the whole compressor have to come out? how much are the bearings if I keep the old clutch?
