Buying a '95 SSEi with only 79K - anything I need to know?
I found a '95 SSEi with 79K on it, and I'm buying it this week since it seems to be in such great shape. Black on black on black, it could stand a little paint freshening on a spot in front of the sunroof and the headliner is a little loose in the back, but it is in great shape.
What should I be aware of on the '95 SSEi models? I have had a '93 SE for almost 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm just curious to find out anything I can about this car before I plunk down the cash.
Thanks for your help!
Barry

the 95 is a good year. the only thing is the hybrid PCM it is a OBD1 connector with OBD2 capabilities. The 95 L67 has the most hp 225 of any series one SC'd motor. There a lot of 95 SSEi'* here. Make sure to check the CCR struts, if the rear end of the car seems to be sagging that means that they are bad, and you can bargain the price down. Also if there seems to ba a rattle form the engine that usually menas that the SC coulper is bad and needs tio be replaced, about 100 for that. other than you basics it sounds like a good deal
where in SC are you ?? im in Fayetteville NC for college, dbeast is also in SC too, we need to meet up!!

I'm near Greenville, SC
I'm near Greenville, SC, and that information sounds great. My old '93 SE looks like a grandma'* car compared to this one! I know the SSEi hp rating is about 225, so that should make my '93'* 175 pale in comparison. I could tell it was a lot stronger when I was test driving it tonight!
I look forward to this one. It has a sunroof, which is what I have wanted for a long time. I could do without all the electronics that may go out one of these days, but I feel like I'm getting a great deal on it. The AutoCheck came up clear, and I'm planning on getting it for $3800, so I feel like that'* about the best I could do given the good shape it'* in.

you are looking at the exact same car as mine, with the exact same problems...
i fixed the headliner already, along with the supercharger coupler and various other things...
the paint balding spot has only got worse though

GREAT looking car!
That is a hot looking car! I like the blacked out headlights. Where could I find covers like that, and how much?
I'll see what I can do to the paint problem, and I'll play around with fixing the steering wheel controls when I get brave one Saturday (when I'm not deer hunting).

The engine making a rattling noise AT IDLE ......MIGHT point to a SC coupler problem, but I doubt it with those few miles.
92-95 SSEi'* have no common problems worth mentioning.
