This car is killing me. The pedal goes all the way to the floor when you press it and there is allot of brake fluid under the car. How much and how hard is it to change a master cylinder? Does the system need to be purged after installing a new cylinder?

the MC is easy....you do need to bench bleed the MC before you install it and then bleed the brakes once its installed.....less than 30 min to complete the job

I do have to tell you that i completed my MC change in a parking lot...so its not that bad...

CAUTION....BE SURE to measure your MC before you go and pruchase a new one...you need the correct one, and there are 2 listed for every year Bonnne.....you will either have a 6" or an 8"

Measure, got it. Now what do you mean bench bleed? I have never had to do this before so its all new to me.

Also how do you bleed the brakes?

If you are losing a ton of fluid.. are you sure it'* the master and not a brake line?

Me thinks maybe it could be a line. It was dark by the time I was on that problem, it might be. It leaves a nice 2 foot diameter puddle under the car, it leaks allot....

It'* not dark now.. I bet you are at work though.

If you lift the hood..you'd see fluid all over the vac booster if it'* leaking that much. This sounds a lot like a line.

It probably is becasue when i was under the hood changing plugs wires ect..... I didn't see brake fluid on the physical cylinder on the fire wall, I just assumed. I hope its a line, they are cheaper!!!

So are you saying if it is brake lines it might be chaper to take it somewhere?

Probably cheaper and easier...
