Battery coat
My battery decided to give me problems in NJ while I was home, think it was from all the corrosion. So I just decided to replace the battery since I did not know how old the other one was. So new battery and nice clean connections = happy Bonne. However, I was wondering if the foam piece around the battery has any function to it. I did not put it back on, figured the battery would maybe stay cooler, etc. So any thoughts on that??

When I bought my '99 this spring, it had the original battery in it and had the blanket. I replaced the battery and put the blanket on also.

Bill: Here you'll find a picture of my engine with the battery coat. I stands out pretty well against the green Interstate battery. It is just a one-piece foam deal with cutouts for the terminals. Slips right on.

well thats what i thought as well, just never seen one and wondered if it really had a purpose. I didnt put mine back on but still have it. Cant imagine it makes that much of a difference to anything. Theres nothing around it that would affect the battery, who knows.
