Bucking and stalling at idle
Hi all,
I had a headgasket problem over a year ago, and finally got around to taking care of it. Yeah I know. I suck.
So I have everything back together, had 1/4 of old gas in the tank and filled it up with fresh gas.
with the fresh gas mixed in its' running better, but at a stop light it starts to buck and ping like there'* a hammer smacking on the engine.
At 40 mph it'* smooth but starting off from a stop is rough. I have had her stall on me.
Any thoughts would be greatly apperiated. I'm looking at buying som star tron fuel treatment but wanted other thoughts as well.
Thanks

Yes fuel filter and get some Star-Tron, or any marine / ethanol fuel stabilizer added to tank ASAP!
You may find that the throttle body and injectors dont like the current fuel situation, so I wouldn't run it until the fuel stabilizer is mixed in the tank for starters.

Jump the fuel pump relay after you disconnect the fuel filter
to drain the bad gas out
Or just live with it and blow a hole threw your piston from detonation
I have yet to see really any snake oil miracle in a can work. We have one in the shop right now with a hole blown threw the piston
