It sounds like the torque converter in unlocking - like it'* supposed to. My 97 Ei does the same. Hopefully one of the gearheads will chime in.

For now, please check and report back your transmission fulid color, level, the last time the transmission was serviced and mileage.

Where is the boost gauge at before it goes up to 2000 rpm, and after?

At that rpm.. you are not in the peak power band. Is this climbing hills or being pretty flat. I remmeber headiing to Intense and going through Columbus...seemed flat.

I think you have a job for the holiday weekend, then. A fuel filter is about $12 at the parts puppies and swaps out in about 10 minutes (in rust-free states like California).

Use a magic marker and write the mileage on the filter so you know where you're at in the future.
