Any of you guys/gals had trouble with GM seatbelts? I've got 2 in my 96 Bonnie (driver seatbelt bad for the last few months and also left rear passenger that just started doing this this week) that stick. I mean, they're really hard to unlatch. Not a big deal for me since I find myself welcoming death at times, but don't like the idea of one of my kids not being able to get out in an emergency whlie I'm preoccupied with burning to death.

Is there some kind of cleaner gunk I can spray in there to fix this? Are seat belts hard to replace? Dunno if that'* something I'd feel comfortable doing considering the consequences of doing it wrong.

Anyone here have experience with this?

Funny you should mention this, because I started noticing a similar problem with my Bonnie last week. I found that pressing the release button down and then back and forth allows the belt to release. I'd like a permanent solution, though....

When i bought my 92, The left rear seat , seatbelt donesnt have a metal flap. Got the Buckle, no flap !!!

I would think to take the seat belt out and spray it with good degreaser and the hose it down to clean it it ......... then spray it with W-D-40 to prevent rust

On my car'* driver'* side belt, the button will not spring back. Tthe mechanism inside is broken, somehow. It'* difficult to get it to stick and stay latched, and to unlatch it you have to press down very hard on the button.

I took the seat out to the car to see if I could replace that section of the belt, it looked to me as though it was stamped onto the seat and I'd have to get a whole new seat (although now Deathrat tells me I can use a torx bit and it will come off...)

You guys do not want to picture me with a torx bit! I can imagine the look on my wife'* face when she comes home and I've got the friggin' seat out! I'll try cleaning it first, and also teach my kids the piggly-wiggly loosenin' uppity step described above. :P
