Default Plugs.....

Anything I should know before swapping out my TR-55 NGK plugs with TR-6'*?

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, TR-55'* are one heat range colder than stock, and TR-6'* are two heat ranges colder than stock.

I plan on gapping them at .55" unless I'm told differently. Something that I should have done with the TR-55'* but didn't know until it was too late, so they were gapped a .60" (stock gap) when I put them in.

TR55'* should be .055" in an L67.
TR6'* get dicey. According to NGK, they should be at .045" to .050". I lean to the high side because I have hotter coils.

Wow...thanks for the input when i gave up on waiting and tossed them in at .55"

ARRRGHHH I knew this was gonna happen.

Oh well, car'* running better with them. The 55'* came out lookin alright.

She scoots from a roll just a lil better now...which is what I was looking for.

John....I'm trying to cool things off under there, it'* warming up....

Plus got some good mod'* on the table that may actually really utilize them.

My opinion is that the gap should get smaller based on boost not heat range. 3.2 - 3.4 pulleys should run .055. 2.8 to 3.2 should run about .050 - .052. 2.7 and smaller should run .045 to .050. This is based on my (and INTENSE'*) personal experiences.

Nate, I think he means Series 2 based on the pulley sizes and Intense doesn't support much Series 1 stuff.

I know....But he also mentioned:

2.7 and smaller should run .045 to .050
Sure the * II maybe able to run that small, i dunno for fact...but It'* merely a ? from me and other inquiring minds.

His reference point is actually boost levels. Not pulley size per se.

Find out what your boost peak is, then relate that to equal boost on a S2, find out what pulley size produces that boost, and pick your number.
