1995 Door Bumper Kit Installation Help to fix Passenger lock
Can anyone help me install this door bumper kit? This is suppose to fix the front passanger side lock. This topic can help those that don't know what it is: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...+panel+removal
I have the door panel off. And I think I located the actuator. Look at the pics. Can anyone Identify the things I need to take off and how to do it.

SUBJECT: INOPERATIVE POWER DOOR LOCKS, LOCKS WILL FUNCTION MANUALLY (REPLACE EXTERNAL BUMPER ON ACTUATOR ARM).

CONDITION: SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON INOPERATIVE POWER DOOR LOCKS (FRONT AND/OR REAR DOORS). DOOR LOCKS WILL STILL OPERATE MANUALLY.
CAUSE: CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY RIPPING OF THE EXTERNAL BUMPER WHICH ALLOWS THE ACTUATOR ARM TO DISENGAGE.
CORRECTION: REPLACE EXTERNAL BUMPER ON ACTUATOR ARM.
IMPORTANT: ON AURORA AND RIVERIA FRONT DOOR LATCHES WITH THEFT DETERRENT, THE LOCK ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED. DO NOT USE THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
1. REMOVE THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY. REFER TO SECTION 10 IN THE SERVICE MANUAL.
2. SEPARATE THE ACTUATOR FROM THE LATCH ASSEMBLY BY REMOVING TWO SCREWS.
3. REPLACE EXTERNAL BUMPER ON ACTUATOR ARM WITH NEW BUMPER SUPPLIED IN SERVICE KIT. {88948572 Door Actuator Bumper Kit (Grp#10587) Pontiac Bonneville Service Kit}
IMPORTANT: THE OLD STYLE BUMPER IS NEUTRAL OR WHITE IN COLOUR AND SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A NEW BLACK BUMPER. DO NOT ADD ANY LUBRICANT TO THE BUMPER OR BUMPER AREA.
4. INSTALL THE ACTUATOR TO THE LATCH ASSEMBLY.
IMPORTANT: ENSURE THAT THE LOCK SWITCH TEETH ARE PUSHED ALL THE WAY TOWARDS THE ACTUATOR ARM AND THE LATCH IS IN THE FULL OPEN POSITION.
5. REPLACE LOCK ROD CLIPS SUPPLIED IN KIT.
6. REINSTALL LOCK ACTUATOR.
7. INSURE PROPER OPERATION OF LOCKS.
I can get pics of what came with the kit too. Any help would be much appreciated!

I have been driving around with my door panel off and half of the vapor barrier ripped back for a month now.
I haven't had the initiative to tackle getting that dam actuator out of the door.
I keep telling myself, there is not enough time, it'* too dark/cold, etc.

heh.. I had time today to try getting it fixed. An hour or so later fixed finally! Getting the rods off was a pain. I had to get a small flat head screw driver to get those white rod holders out (at least 1-2 of them) and for another I took a soldering iron and just melted the plastic (could not get it any other way). Now your done with the hardest part. After its out you just unscrew to screws with torx and replace that tiny little white bumper. Putting it back in sucks too but its not as bad as taking it out.

Hey, DS. Not so fast. 
Did you have to remove the bars for the outside door handle? Did the kit have replacement pieces for the piece you torched with the soldering iron?
Better yet, can you put some labels on your pics as to what is what and what you did with them?

The rods going up (the the outside handle and lock) I did not do anything with, I just removed them from the actuator. The rod going to the outside lock was the hardest to remove, it was the one I had to use the sod iron to get it out. It probably would be easiest to use a soldering iron to melt all of the plastic rod holders unless you have a really small flathead; also your not going to use them agian so it wont matter. I labeled the top pic of which rod is which. Feal free to ask any other Questions.

Now, I understand. You don't worry about destroying these plastic pieces because the kit not only has the "bumper" piece to replace, but also all of those plastic replacement parts.
That helps a lot. I will work on it and let you know.

You are the man! I did it! I completed a bumper kit! I can't believe it. I have been running around with a door panel off for months. You finally gave me the courage to go back in there and fix it.
I can't believe it was all for a little 3/8" x 1/4" piece of rubber.
But it works beautifully and I got everything back together with nothing left over and nothing broken. I had purchased a door panel pry bar which helps for those dang trees on the door panel.
My kit came with 3 small plastic clips and I needed 4, so I re-used one of the ones that was in the best shape that I didn't destroy. It also came with 4 large clips that I imagine are for another type of car. My kit also came with 2 bumpers and one door only needs one. When I bought my kit it was opened and taped shut, so who knows how many parts of what should have been in it. I should have insisted Mr. Goodwrench give me a fresh unopened kit.
I used the technique of prying the bars off the actuator with a screwdriver. I also took off the outside door handle which allowed me to remove the outside bars at the top so I could rotate the actuator in the door enough to pry the outside bars out of the actuator clips.
Anyway, thanks DS for the encouragement and thanks to whoever put up the write-up to take the door off -- that helped a lot.
