Default Troubleshooting MAF codes

I have a 97 SE with 125,000 mi. I just got the car and have been working through a general tune-up. The car is throwing P0102 consistently. As a test I disconnected the MAF while the car was idling and there was no change. Any insight?

its a dead MAF if you unplug it and no change, go to a car yard and pick on up from there, or buy a new one
i usually had to tap on the sensor to get her running again to the point where i went out and got a new one
