Default wind noise @ windows and trunk leak

Okay, so driving down the highway @ 80ish mph I'm noticing terrible wind noise coming from both of my front doors. It is coming directly from the point where the window pillar comes to the top of my door. Is there something I can do to help this? I was thinking of getting new rubber moulding but I'm thinking that would be hellaexpensive. Is there something aftermarket or Home Depot style I can use?

I'm sure some of you have a water leak in your trunk too. I'm sick of it smelling musty. Again, probably the same product, something I can use to help my rubber seals do a better job?

Your idea should work well, but I have a couple of suggestions. First, go thin. 1/8 or 1/4 inch at most. Second, make sure you get 'closed-cell' weatherstripping, not 'open-cell'. The difference is that open cell is the absorbent cheap stuff that will saturate with water and degrade over time. Closed-cell is more of a rubber or latex compound, and since the cells are 'closed', will not absorb moisture. It'* not as mushy, though, so you may have to go thinner with the stuff than you would with open cell weatherstripping. Home Depot should have everything you need.

If it works, let us know.

I also have that damn wind noise from my doors! Sucks!!
my trunk leaks too. I thought it was coming from my gas door. Seems to be the locking gas cap option is all there except for the button in the glovebox(weird). The little part that latches the door close looked kind of open in the back and the quarter panel inside the trunk was wet, so I siliconed the little gap inside the gas door--didn't work! Now I think it'* leaking from under the molding under the rear window! Still don't know yet tho.
hey.....Does anyone NOT have the pwr gas door release that has all the wiring and stuff there w/o the button in the glove box? I'm going to grab me a pwr button from something and hook that baby up!!

Mine isn't a release, or at least doesn't 'pop' the door open. Mine has a power LOCK on it. If I use the key or the keyless entry to open ALL doors, my gas door unlocks. If I unlock just the driver door, it stays locked. This way, if my car is locked, you can't get into my tank. I have no remote button in the glovebox or anywhere else.

Gotta check that out now! Still learning about this car .
when I pulled my trim cover back I saw that solenoid-I pulled that little lever and the lock was moving for the door. My door was open(driver side)and unlocked-but that little arm for the gas door was in the closed(locked)position.
I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Ok-I checked it out--and that'* just what it does. The locking pin mechanism is a little loose tho so it slides back and forth. I have to adjust it somehow so it'll work like it should--as it is right now either it locks all the time where I have to pop it open from inside the trunk or it won't lock at all.

Seems to be leaking from under the rear glass inside the trunk--where the 1st clip is. I put alot of silicone under there so hopefully it'll stop.
Supposed to rain til Wed!

I had the wind noise problem too.

I thought about replacing the weatherstripping with an OEM part, but that option was too expensive. Instead, I removed the entire weatherstrip and reglued it. The stripping appeared to have shrunk, so there'* a little gap at the bottom, but it'* not too noticable. Ta-da, no more wind noise.

Yeah, drive slower

Seriously, I don't have that wind noise problem, but the musty trunk I can relate with. - I have to check it out after the snow melts off of my car and see if it'* a pronounced leak. From what I've read extensively, I get the feeling that it'* a problem on the 00-03 Bonnies as well as the pre-2000 models.
