I'm in the process of removing the water pump and I hit a problem : How do you remove the screw on the left bottom of the pump, looking at it from passenger side??? Theres a flange holding a pulley right in front of it. What haven't I understood

95 Series 1 would be supercharged. There'* a big ugly half of a accessory bracket etc.

IIRC you go through the pulley to get the ps bolts. I'm not 100% though. I'm sure the info is here...we just need to search.

My god, do I have to split the entire engine apart just to change a water pump XD

I took the day off to try and fix that, I'm supposed to play paintball all weekend and this activity depends on my capability to open the water pump and give it a new gasket!!!

Try getting a service manual for your vehicle. That will greatly help you if you're the type of person that works on your vehicle yourself.

I twice had to attach an engine lift to raise the engine so that the water pump pulley can be taken off. But to remove the pulley you must loosen the torque axis mount and split it so that you can remove the part attached to the engine. Then... the pulley will come off and you can get at the water pump cover. For thirty bucks, a little insurance is to replace the pump also. A little bird told me to look at the block overflow? elbow and sure enough that was busted. The little hose flange under the alternator. A little NAPA engineering fixed that. That all depends on whether or not your '95 was like my '93. I have spoken too much already tho I must say that if ours were alike then you lift the engine from above to take the mount apart. The book is correct on this.

Mine is a '94.. the book says to lift the engine thought too, but I'm really hoping to get around it. I noticed on Dan'* writeup he doesn't say anything about lifting the engine, but I'm assuming it'* a different year.

30 bucks to also replace the pump? Or the pulley? I'm strictly planning on replacing the pump. And the upper intake. And the radiator. And maybe some hoses. I'm sick of leaks

Well, after seeing the amount of trouble it was, I just abandoned and RTV-ed everything, broke some eggs in the rad and hit a can of stop-leak and it stopped dripping. (I believe everyone understands I don't want to hear about how bad of a fix it is ; it'* a fix that worked!)

I'll buy both pumps and will arrange to have an entire week-end to do this job next time.

On the bright side: I was able to travel 500km and play paintball without any trouble getting there or coming back!

P.* Oh and I'll definetly buy a service manual before trying again!!!
