1997 bonne ssei belt replacement?
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to install this alternator belt i removed the spacer and the bolt at the bottom of the motor mount next to the crank. i tried for 4 hrs and gave up most of the pics that were posted dont work. can someone show me how the belt is routed on an engine that is out of the car or something. i am about to remove the whole motor mount next but i dont want to if i dont have to.

i saw those pictures but i still cannot get it routed the correct way my car doesnt have the owners manual so i dont know how it goes. i was looking on my 01 buick regal but it is a little different i used that diagram and the belt was rubbing the idler pulley bracket for the supercharger belt. i need a diagram too.

These are from the same year you have, so things should match up.

I've done dozens of these and never had a problem. I go around the balancer pulley on the bottom, then around the AC, over the water pump, over the alt, then under the PS pump. Put the wrench on the tensioner and move it over and slide the belt over.
